In late November 2014 a the KRH Alpine Team, consisting of both seasoned veterans and novices, made their way to Verbier for Ex WHITE KNIGHT, a five week exercise and competition between units of the AAC and RAC. Whilst the snowfall was disappointing this was compensated by some excellent après ski and the hosting of another now (in)famous Warrior Parties. The team had exceptional results at this stage winning 15 of 18 available trophies. Full of confidence they then proceeded on to Ex PIPEDOWN, the divisional championships where we sadly lost a stalwart of the regimental team to injury but nonetheless managed to qualify 3 members of the team for the Army championships on Ex LIONS CHALLENGE. They managed to finish 6th overall, an excellent result for a small regimental team fielding only three members. As a very gifted racer Capt Joe Williamson was selected as a member of the Army team and proved himself to be the fastest skier at the Inter Services championships over Super G and Downhill disciplines. Watch this space for results from the British National Championships to be held in March at Tignes where Capt Williamson will be flying the KRH flag proudly as a member of the Combined Services Team.
