11 soldiers and officers of C Squadron deployed to Kenya to climb Africa’s second highest peak; Mount Kenya. Standing at 4985m tall, this was to be no easy challenge. After four days climbing, nine of the group finally made it to the summit, arriving at sunrise to see the breathtaking views. All were effected by altitude sickness to some degree and the unfortunate two who felt it more than the rest made an instant recovery on decent.
The group was lucky enough to enjoy two days safari in the 'Samburu National Park' and they even managed to see four of the big five.

Well done guys no easy climb to the top of Batian. I hope you had time to get around the corner to the bottom of the Diamond Couloir to see if the memorial stone is still there.
