Sunday 3rd May 2020
The Parade
The Cavalry Memorial Parade and Service will take place in Hyde Park on Sunday 3rd May 2020. The date has been moved forward by one week due to the National VE Day celebrations the following weekend. Dress will be suits / jacket and trousers, Regimental ties and medals, members in civilian clothes may wear berets. Serving and retired members of the Regiment start to gather from 1000hrs on the Broad Walk (East) just inside the Park, parallel to Park Lane. Please RV at our Regimental Standard by 1045hrs. The Parade steps off at 1100hrs. A short memorial service follows, after which you are free to leave.
Seating and Standing Areas
You need to book seating/standing area tickets for family or guests, or if you wish to attend the service but cannot march. Access to the seating and standing area is by ticket only and will be via three entry points, at each end of the Serpentine Road and from Broad Walk. Serpentine Road entrances will close promptly at 1055 hrs, however the Broad Walk entrance will remain open at all times. Tickets should be ordered through Home HQ by 17th April 2020. Please follow the link below to download and complete the order form and send it to HHQ.
The Serving Regiment
You will be interested to know that the Regiment will be starting a period of Public Duties on Friday 1st May, so they will be ‘guarding’ Buckingham Palace and St James’ Palace on Saturday 2nd and the morning of Sunday 3rd May. We very much look forward to seeing them at the Cavalry Memorial parade and afterwards at the Regimental lunch.
Regimental Lunch
The Regimental Lunch will be held at the Royal Air Force Club, 128 Piccadilly, which is situated next to the Cavalry and Guards Club. Drinks will also be available and lunch will be served at 1:00 pm. Family and guests are most welcome. An excellent lunch, with wine, is guaranteed and at a very good price (as it is subsidised by the Association) of £28 per person. If those who can afford to make a donation over and above the cost would do so, it would be very much appreciated.
Due to available space, the menu this year will be a variety of buffet style ‘bowl-food’ options
Vegetarian options will be included
We look forward to a fine turnout, so please come along and meet the serving Regiment, support your Association and have a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon.
