HELP US BY COMPLETING THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONNAIRE ABOUT THE COMBINED CAVALRY PARADE AND REGIMENTAL LUNCH - PLEASE COMPLETE BY 31ST OCTOBER.
The Combined Cavalry Old Comrades Association (CCOCA) holds the annual Cavalry Memorial Parade and Service in Hyde Park on the second Sunday in May each year. It is attended by all RAC and Yeomanry Regiments, with both Serving and Retired members taking part; Regimental Associations take it in turns to lead and to administer the parade. Following the Parade, the Regimental Association holds a luncheon in the RAF Club on Piccadilly, which is open to All Ranks, with costs subsidised by the Association.
If you haven't attended before, the Cavalry Memorial Parade is always a great occasion. Dress for the parade is suits / jacket and trousers, Regimental ties and medals, and many members wear their berets. Hyde Park is a magnificent venue for this short but very poignant parade. The Spring weather is usually very kind to us, and central London is normally not very busy, and of course it is another great opportunity to meet up with old mates.
When the serving regiment are not deployed they usually turn out in-style, but in recent years the "old and bold" are becoming noticeable by their absence. The numbers of Old Comrades attending the Parade, and especially attending the luncheon, has reduced. The Colonel of the Regiment and Chairman of the Association are very keen to address this decline in our numbers, and to that end we are asking for your help.
Have a good think about why you do or don't attend, and tell us how you think we could do things better to attract a greater number of the Association. Then, please complete the short questionnaire below and press 'Submit' to send it to HHQ.
The Trustees will be reflecting on your answers at their November Meeting.
