Staff Parade 1868

Staff Parade in the Regiment is held at 2150 hours to commemorate the death of Lord Cardigan on the 28th March 1868, who died at that precise time.  Cardigan commanded the Regiment when the 11th Light Dragoons escorted Prince Albert to his wedding and when they subsequently became the 11th Prince Albert's Own Hussars.  The 11th Hussars formed part of the ill-fated Light Brigade, which was commanded by Cardigan during the Crimean war.
